Your body produces a hormone called cortisol that puts you into fight, flight or freeze mode. Instead of running from tigers, you're running from financial burden, family tension, trauma, and many other things that you can't really run away from. With the constant stress, your body becomes used to the high level of cortisol and when you don't get your fix... you create situations that cause cortisol release without even knowing it!

Hey, I'm Quintina!
And I am a recovering stress addict.
As someone who has experienced trauma, I didn't trust myself to make decisions. I was constantly criticizing myself and planning every detail to avoid "messing up again." I blamed myself for what happened to me.
What I didn't realize was all of these were signs of stress addiction. My body had been in fight or flight mode for so long that I didn't know what it was like to let go of the outcome and find the joy in the journey of life.
That's when I found breathwork, and became a facilitator so I could share this self- healing practice with others. It empowered me to be my own healer, and detox from my stress addiction instead of looking for things outside of myself to heal me.
